Extracts from letters on the discontent of Black people, the desire of the plantation owners for a rebellion to quell, the departure of the Governor for the Leeward Islands to address some unrest, and the quarrel between the Governor and the local owners, the difficulty of obtaining justice for Black people, the arrival of Archdeacon Elliot, the summoning of Sir Andrew Halliday to Trinidad, probably organised by the plantation owners, and the continuance of the production of sugar.
