She describes the comfort of their rather plain lodging at Albano and the pleasure it was to have only their two maids to do everything for them, and mentions that they expected to be there for a few days because of the political situation in Naples and that Anna and Sarah Gurney had joined them that day. The following day, she describes their activities in their lodging over the Sunday, where they were confined by the rain. They expected Richards, the two boys, and Keily, who had remained in Rome to pack up, the following day. Their future plans were uncertain because of Anna's fear of the war in Naples, but she thought they would continue in that direction and, urging Catherine to write to them, mentions several places to which letters might be sent. Hannah was at that time considering returning to England with her husband. Richenda remarked that if it were not so inconvenient, it would be delightful to have the English fleet from Malta knock the pride out of the King of Naples. She also comments on the trouble caused by Anna's many pets with all their cages and conveniences, adding that they had left their civetta in Rome, though it had been a great pet. She wishes Catherine's children were there with them to cheer them all up, despite protesting that they were indeed very comfortable, and sends her fondest love to Catherine and Edward. A final note hints that they might be home in six weeks' time.
