He had seen a copy of a letter, which was to be sent to him offering him the Archdeaconry of all the Bahamas Islands, which he intended to accept. He informs him that the Bishop of Newfoundland, Dr Spencer, was to be translated to Jamaica and, he hoped, would prove a true friend to the Black people there. He expresses awareness of Buxton's continual exertions on his behalf.
