He warns that the Colonial Office and Admiralty would not be likely to offer assistance beyond the loan of the 'Albert' or 'Wilberforce', either of which could steam faster if less heavily loaded. The loan of either would be worth £10,000 in their estimate. Lushington, Trotter, Beaufort, and others were meeting to discuss the matter with him and Trew would report to him the result.
