Alexander Trotter to Buxton, explaining that a cold had kept him from that afternoon's committee meeting, at which he had hoped to hear its views on the present circumstances, [26 Jan] 1842
He expressed the hope that Trew's mission to the West Indies would not be delayed as he believed that help would come from that quarter and that it would be needed before the model farm began to suffer from the withdrawal of the expedition. He informs him that his brother had arrived in Liverpool the previous day and would be in London the following day and was reasonably well. He was enclosing a copy of his brother's letter on the death of Bird Allen for Buxton and Inglis and other friends to see.
