Buxton to Mrs Trotter, thanking her for sending so many transcripts of letters, saying that he had no letters that she had not already seen, but that he had directed Trew to send her a copy of everything about the expedition that came addressed to him, 13 Jan 1842
He was pleased at the way Fishbourne and Bowden were so eager to get back to help her husband, sympathises with her over the longer time it took for letters to reach her than it did for Mrs Cook to receive letters from her husband, but asserts that he was sure Trotter would be restored to her. He expresses sympathy for Lieutenant Littlehale, who had treated the sick men very well despite the fact that he had talked without discretion. (Copy.)
