Lady Parry to Richenda Buxton, about the prayer meeting mentioned in her last letter, at which Trew and Pyne were present, among others, Trotter's latest letters were read, and Sir Edward Parry read the most recent despatch received, 14 Dec 1841
She claims that all Trotter's letters refute the charges made against him and that, though no revelation should be made of the charges, the statement she wanted prepared should provide those facts which would contradict them. Sir Edward Parry wished the statement to be suitable for publication in The Times. Parry was preparing his own large report on the expedition for the authorities, but he still hoped to be able to attend the meeting of the African Civilization Society. (Copy.)
