Priscilla Johnston to Anna Gurney and Anna Forster, reporting on her journey to London with her younger children in order to visit her parents at Brick Lane, the departure of Joseph John Gurney and Elizabeth Fry for the Continent, with their courier Wells and many books, and her visits to Samuel Hoare and his wife at Ham House and to Upton to see Edward and his family, 2 Aug 1841
She writes of her father being still an invalid and her mother very anxious, and of how Chenda was responding to the strains of her father's illness.
