Buxton to Lord John Russell, about the government's liability to pay interest on the loan raised by Lushington and Edward Buxton for purchasing the vessels for the expedition, the government having already repaid the capital borrowed, 24 Jul 1841
He says that Baring was prepared to make this payment if Russell would authorise it, adding that he cared less about the actual money than about the principle involved. Finally, he congratulates him on his recent marriage. (Copy.)
