Buxton to Lord John Russell, telling him about the letter Alexander had asked him to sign, and saying that he agreed with its contents but that he had refused to sign it because it spoke far too coolly of Russell's services to the cause of anti-slavery, since he believed the expedition would never have set sail if it had not been for his help, 26 Jun 1841
He adds that he was going to London on Monday in order to vote for him on Tuesday morning.
