He advises sending the daughter to Madeira and offers to start a subscription to finance the journey, inquiring whether any of Trew's family could be found to accompany her, and promising to pay £50 to £100 towards the cost himself and to find at least two others to do likewise and asking if he knew of other possible subscribers to whom he, Buxton, might apply. He suggests they ask the government for a passage. He is adamant that the two societies employing Trew would have to economise and that £100 would have to be docked from his salary by each, but he tries to dissuade him from applying to the government for employment, saying that even with his reduced salary he would be getting £400 p.a., which was twice as much as he would receive as a clergyman. He suggests that an accommodation might be made to permit Trew to live out of London and to attend to the affairs of the societies on a part time basis only. (Copy.)
