Lushington to Buxton, announcing that Palmerston had told him of the acquisition of Fernando Po (Bioko) the previous night, in confidence, that Trotter would sail from Plymouth on the Saturday, and that he hoped all would go well though they had had some difficulty over his instructions, 29 Apr 1841
He writes that they were about to be defeated over Lord Morpeth's Bill that night.
