He mentions Anson's letter about the Prince's gifts, which he was sending her (pp. 217 a-d). He teases her about the carriage she was having built to her own specification at Overstrand. He mentions Priscilla's pleasure at the choice of the baby's name. He remarks that he cannot think where Edward had sent his letters for Feb and Mar and advises her to leave a few pages [in this volume] for them. He advises her on how to save £10 a year on tax for her carriage by arranging that it should cost less than £20 to build. He reports that he had just heard that the 'Albert' and the 'Wilberforce' would not be leaving for some days and remarks that he hoped Mrs Trotter had not taken command of the expedition. He mentions that Joseph was better and sends his regards to Amelia Opie, referring obscurely to the latter's note about Jephson, his doctor. Finally, he writes that his doctor hoped to cure him completely if he stayed at Leamington until 10 May.
