Buxton to Thomas Clarkson, thanking him for his letter to the slave-holding clergy and plantation owners in the United States and for the kind inscription in it, saying that he thought it would do much good in awakening the clergy to a sense of the danger they were in, and agreeing with all it said, 15 Apr 1841
He also introduces Captain Washington, who was to deliver the letter, as one of the most effective, able, and persevering friends of the Civilization Society. (Copy.)
