Mrs Samuel Gurney to Miss E.S. Gurney, giving her account of the management of the dinner at Ham House and the part played by Buxton and Samuel Gurney, 23 Mar 1841
Naming many of the guests and describing the speeches of Samuel Gurney, Sir Robert Inglis, and Sir Edward Parry; also describing the 'sitting' that followed, at which Elizabeth Fry spoke and Samuel Gurney read from the epistle to the Thessalonians. She remarks that by some mistake all the officers of the 'Wilberforce' were absent and it was assumed they had lost their way. (Copy.)
