- Buxton to Samuel Wiseman, thanking him for his most generous offer of service to their cause and apologising for not having replied earlier, explaining that he had to be very careful not to stir up sectarian jealousies and that he had therefore delegated the matter to Trew. He was enclosing Trew's answer. He was leaving for London that day but expected to stay only a week or two because of the state of his health (copy), 17 Feb 1841
- Buxton to Joseph John Gurney, about visiting him that weekend. He mentions Channing's review of the latter's book, which should make it well known in America. He comments on the greater success of Joseph John's books compared with his own. (Copy), 18 Feb 1841.
