Mrs Forster to Anna Gurney of Earlham, about having just dined with Buxton at Northrepps Hall, describing his fatigue and his disappointment at not having as much support as formerly from the Society of Friends, 31 Oct 1840
She had explained to him the difficulties experienced by them over some of his plans and that many Quakers now wore worldly clothes and could not be immediately recognised. She commends Joseph John Gurney's attempt to bring the two societies into accord and offers to provide accommodation for the night of the proposed dinner. (Copy.)
