Buxton to Samuel Gurney, returning Cook's and Booker's letters to him, agreeing with the decision that they could do nothing at the time about an agricultural settlement, and approving Gurney Hoare's proposal of a ship full of goods, 22 Sep 1840
He asks him to see both Booker and Cook about this and set matters underway, finding out how much money was needed and making sure that Booker realised a steamship was necessary. He discusses the difficulty of Samuel Gurney and Cook going [to see Booker] because of the death of Sarah Sheppard or Booker coming to London, and suggests that William Forster and Captain Cook or Gurney Hoare might be adequate substitutes.
