Buxton to S. Wiseman, sending him a copy of a letter from Trew, with which he agrees, 12 Sep 1840
On the grounds that Wiseman's preferred services were too valuable to lose, he decides to dispense with the formality of consulting the committee and asks him to act in accordance with the terms of Trew's letter, taking care to offend none of the many sects and political parties involved. He adds that Trew should be at home at the beginning of Oct and that he himself would be in London then. (Copy.)
