He explains his uneasiness over the actions of the Aborigines Protection Society and his doubts about whether he should remain connected with it in view of the appointment of Colonel Campbell as chairman because of his opposition to his own views and his abuse of some of his Society's most influential friends. He asks if he could provide him with a statement from the Moravians on the government of the Cape and treatment of the Xhosa people which had appeared in one of the Aborigines Protection Society publications.
