He mentions various members of the family, and expresses his satisfaction that she had made the journey to Athens and that Charles had so benefited from it. He announces that he intended to return to London on the Friday and expected some 'brisk contentions' and an attack by O'Connell who was extremely upset over what had happened, but that Sir George Stephen had reverted to his old self. He announces that they were to live at Brick Lane and would look forward to receiving her there. He tells her of the favour her travels had found with everyone and how he longed to hear that they had reached Milan or some similar place.
