Buxton to Dr James Rumsey, thanking him for his letter about The Remedy and asking if he would become a corresponding member of their Society, 9 Jun 1840
He agrees with him [about the absence of any prayers at their meeting at Exeter Hall?], pointing out that it was so decided in deference to the Quaker supporters of their cause. He writes that he looked to people like himself to make their remedy for the miseries of Africa known to the general public. (Copy.)
