Cardinal Tosti to Buxton, thanking him for the report on the Roman prisons and his letter of 31 Mar promising that, as soon as his affairs permitted, he would study it in detail and benefit from his revelations and from the edifying interest he took in this miserable section of humanity, 6 Apr 1840
He thanks him also for the kind words addressed to him out of the generosity for which he was celebrated and, after regretting that he had been indisposed, expresses the hope that he had been restored to perfect health. He hopes that a suitable occasion will occur for him to demonstrate the high esteem in which he held him. (In Italian).
