He adds that, having read the life of Ashmun, he was favourably impressed by his motives and that he had used his evidence and that of others of his group as authorities on the productivity of Africa and on its people. He mentions that the Slave Trade had been just published in America and that he hoped that when The Remedy had been published, equal attention would be paid to it by the friends of Black people in that country.
