Parry to Buxton, about a letter he was enclosing from Trotter presenting the conditions upon which he would be prepared to go to Africa, 19 Aug 1839
He mentions the conference he had had with Lushington and Bird Allen that day, when they had seen Trotter's letter and Allen's willingness to serve under Trotter. He urges him not to discourage the government's offer of a frigate even though it was not an indispensable adjunct to their scheme. He tells him that he had asked Lushington to inform the Admiralty that he was himself willing to work on the business of sorting out the details, which would be numerous.
