Buxton to Dr Duncombe, thanking him for his encouraging letter, telling him about the formation of the Society in London, and enclosing a paper intended for private circulation, which would explain all this to him, 7 Aug 1839
He relates the doubts he had about publishing the second part of his work while the Fernando Po (Bioko) question was still open, the intention of the committee of the new society to meet in London, and the help a similar meeting in Yorkshire such as he had proposed would be. He adds that he could not decide upon a name for the new society. He mentions the plan that Hannah would leave for Southern Europe in Sep and that he would follow after a month or six weeks. (Copy.)
