He promises much enjoyment in their holiday in Rome that autumn. He also mentions the prospect of a party with the Ashanti princes at Edward's house. The first part of his chapter of The Remedy was at the printers and he had accepted the improvements to his style incorporated by Priscilla, though he was disappointed at the poor sale of his first book. He was looking forward to their journey to Rome and the possibility of spending the two cold months in Naples.
