He was doubtful about printing his chapter lest the Spaniards should learn of the importance of acquiring Fernando Po (Bioko). He had received a parcel of papers from them, which he had not yet fully examined. A postscript from Hannah Buxton enlarges on Buxton's relationship with the Ministers and with Palmerston over Fernando Po (Bioko), together with his fear that it would not be acquired by Britain but by America.
