- Las Bridges to Andrew Johnston, about the receipt of Buxton's book, which he had reviewed for the newspapers although his review was only published in the Edinburgh University Magazine because of its length, copies of which he had sent to him and to Buxton. He agreed with what Buxton had said and intended to participate in the subject when it came before the General Assembly (copy), 12 May 1839
- Edward Buxton to Buxton, about the interesting visit to Manchester he had had and the report he would make on it on reaching Wakefield with William Forster (copy), 14 May 1839.
