Glenelg to Buxton, about his offer to McQueen that day of a position as one of the mission, which he was considering, 1 Jan 1839
McQueen had undertaken to provide a sketch of the negotiations and treaties and an opinion on whether it was time to consider the formation of the Company. He points out that the main cost of the scheme would be in its establishment and therefore authorises Buxton to mention it to any capitalists he might know who would favour the scheme. He summons him to town to do so. He mentions that he has seen Rendell, of whom he had a good impression, but had not yet seen Becroft.
