He intended to see the Ministers on that day as well as Dr Bowring from Egypt, John Rendell from the Gambia, and Captain Cook from the east coast [of Africa], all of whom he would invite to meet McQueen at Duke Street to examine the map if they could meet there. He suggests that if McQueen wished to see him before then, he should go to Northrepps as he was confined there for most of the next two weeks. He asks him to return to the questions on northern slavery as that was the problem he found most pressing. Finally, he suggests that the best idea would be for McQueen to return to Northrepps with him in Dec, discussing his book en route, for which purpose he would hire the whole of the interior of the coach; they would correct the book at Northrepps, fit in the geographical section, and revise the section on the northern trade.
