Buxton to James McQueen, about his inability to obtain an interview with Poulett Thompson; he had consequently written to him asking for a charter with limited responsibility, 24 Aug 1838
He mentions the complaint that had reached him that there was no map in his book and his decision to include one when it was printed for the public, saying that he would rely upon him to provide this as his geography, especially of Africa, was very poor. He records his intention to reread his book critically so that he might remedy its faults before republication, and asks McQueen to do the same and to make stringent criticisms.
