He wishes him a happy new year and comments on his own habit of taking stock of his life at the beginning of each year. He expresses relief that his uncle had not sold his Bolanos shares and offers to relieve him of them, though he would let him have them back on the same terms should they improve. He reports on the health of Hannah and Sarah and recommends the new clergyman at Bellfield. (Copy.)
