Dr Murray having been an eyewitness to the act and being an adviser to the Governor; he refers to Murray's letter published in the Commercial Advertiser, 20 Feb 1836. He answers all her queries about the details of the Report on the Aborigines, about which she had written to him on 30 Sep, (see pp. 110-113), pledging to make all the necessary corrections to the text in proof. He also asks if she knew Buxton's opinion on the additions proposed by the Aborigines Society Committee. He writes that he knew Buxton must have had considerable reasons for agreeing to the cuts that had been made and that he would like to know what they were and whether his reasons applied to opposing the Society's proposals for including additional remarks and illustrations in their publication of the report. He also expresses regret at Sarah Buxton's ill health and offers comfort from St John.
