Buxton to Joseph Sturge, referring to a letter to Trew that he was enclosing and Sturge's departure for the West Indies, 9 Oct 1836
He begs him and Scoble to abandon all their preconceptions about Black people as they leave England so that their evidence might bear no trace of prejudice, advising that more stress should be laid on the circumstances of Black people after the apprenticeship system had ceased than during it and asking them to return with full details of education for Black people. Also, the letter to Trew asking him to assist Sturge, Scoble, and their companions in the West Indies. (Copies.)
