Catherine Buxton to Sarah and Edmund, written partly while waiting for her father-in-law in Downing Street, describing their holiday, her husband's absence in Norfolk, the end of her father-in-law's business in London, the opposition he had encountered in one of his Committees from Sir Rufane Donkin, and the way he had dealt with it, 6 Aug 1836
Later, she reports on the activities of the afternoon, visiting the British Gallery with Buxton, a visit to Lord Breadalbane, the health of her aunt Hoare, the fruit crop, buying furniture for her new home, and the departure of her parents-in-law [for Northrepps].
