D[avid] Barclay to Buxton, about the resolutions passed on 26 Nov by the Anti-Slavery Society being at variance with the resolution passed on 14 Aug and transmitted to him by Buxton to forward to Mauritius, 3 Dec 1835
He writes of a letter by George Stephen in The Times, attacking Buxton, and his own wish that the Society would apply its energies to stopping the traffic in enslaved people rather than to harassing colonists who were trying to make emancipation work.
