Buxton to Jeremie, about a letter he had sent him, which he would need as evidence to convince their more extreme supporters in Birmingham that they had sacrificed neither the Black people of Mauritius nor Jeremie out of a compliment to the Ministers, 10 Nov 1835
He asks him to prepare a case for the Black people there before he left for Ceylon (Sri Lanka). He mentions the meeting with Lushington and his willingness to present Jeremie's memorial to the Colonial Office, but counsels moderation of expression to safeguard the appointment in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). He says that Jeremie should see Sligo's letters to Suffield before writing his memorial.
