He assesses Anna Hanbury's character. He writes of his crowded programme on returning to the city and the impending debate on the Irish Church, in which he felt too mentally exhausted to participate. He also refers to the family's health, a meeting with Stockenstrom, and a delegation to present a memorial to the Colonial Secretary.
