He refers to his editing of the second number of the Abolitionist. He reports on the arrival of George Thompson in New York, the attacks on him by slave holders and the Colonization group, Americans' interest in what was happening in the West Indies, news that some slave owners in Kentucky were giving up their enslaved people, Miss Crandall being forced to give up her school, the marriage of William Lloyd Garrison, and the postponement of his trials.
