He describes his journey to Norwich in the company of Nurse, where he transferred to the Mail and spent the night journey counting his blessings, which he enumerates, before he fell asleep at Ipswich. He describes his activities in London after travelling through snow and fog to reach it, his visits to the Frye, the Macaulay's, the anti-slavery meeting, Lushington, a meeting of the Real Del Monte Board, and another concerning the Indian widows. He inquires about Priscilla, who was ailing, and about Harry, her own health, whether there had been any wrecks during the storms and whether Anna was succouring any rescued crew at the Cottage. He comments that London could not supply nearly as much important news as Cromer. Finally, he announces that he expected to be home on the Saturday night and asks for the horses to be sent to Aylsham for himself and John Gurney. (Memoir, p. 232.)
