He sympathises with the maladies of his family. He asks her to arrange for Samuel Hoare to write to him about the sale of his books, his father's opinion of the horse, and the growth of Lewis's hops. He mentions that he had been reading the Bible and Hudibras since his arrival. (Memoir, p. 76.)
