Comprises:
- Vol. 42 (pp. 1-96) cuttings from British newspapers concerning the slave trade, emancipation, and anti-slavery meetings. The cuttings were pasted into a school register for the years 1830-1836 and the volume was identified as Vol. II, Aug 1839-Dec 1840
- Vol. 43 (pp. 1-140) cuttings from British newspapers concerning the slave trade, the Niger Expedition, and related subjects. The volume was originally identified as Vol. III, Jan 1841-Mar 1842
- Vol. 44 (pp. 1-146) cuttings from British newspapers and journals about slavery, the slave trade, and anti-slavery meetings, not only in British possessions but also in those of other European nations and of America. They also deal with the departure of the second Niger Expedition under Captain Becroft. The volume was originally identified as Vol. IV, Apr 1842-Mar 1845
- Vol. 45 (pp. 1-104) cuttings from British and colonial newspapers and journals about the slave trade, the Portuguese treaty, and right of search by British naval vessels of foreign ships suspected of the slave trade, 1837-1842
- Vol. 45 (pp. 105-112) papers relative to the Negotiations between Great Britain and Portugal about the suppression of the Slave Trade presented by both Houses of Parliament by Command of Her Majesty, Jan 1840
- Vol. 46 (pp. 1-40) articles extracted from The Times on the African Squadron and its effectiveness, and comments from other journals on the state of public opinion as a result of those articles and of the attack The Times had made upon the Anti-Slavery Society and the Anti-Slavery Reporter, [1848].
