- folder 2 (fols. 1-37) correspondence between Margery Perham, Edward Lugard, Coupland, and Lord Lugard about the proposal that she undertake to write Lord Lugard's biography, 1938-1945
- folder 3 (fols. 1-4) notes of a talk between Major Edward Lugard, Margery Perham, Ethel Rayne, and Violet Townshend concerning the final editing of the revised Dual Mandate, source material for the biography, and the instructions left by Lord Lugard about the treatment of materials for his biography and that of Lady Lugard being written by Enid Moberly Bell, about the long delay in producing the Lugard biography and the possibility of a short biographical sketch being written by Margery Perham in the interim; also, a précis of subsequent correspondence on the same subjects, 1945

- folder 8 (fols. 1-12) correspondence about the draft biography of Lord Lugard written by W.I. Mumford, which had been rejected by a publisher, 1947
- folder 9 (fols. 1-10) letter from Edward Lugard about his wife's botanical studies in Ngamiland for Kew Gardens and some choice plants he was sending Margery Perham from his own garden, 1954.
