This section consists of letters that, for various reasons, Margery Perham kept distinct from the rest of her correspondence, some because they were of purely personal interest, some because they covered a very wide range of her colonial interests, and some because they did not relate to the subject matter of other sections. The first two boxes contain correspondence with and about two eminent friends, Lord Lugard and Arthur Creech Jones, who was Secretary of State for the Colonies from 1946 to 1950. There follow two boxes of correspondence with Africans and with institutions, including charities. In MSS. Perham 26-29, the files of general correspondence are arranged in alphabetical order of correspondents' names. The last two boxes in this series are concerned with the appointment and work of her research assistants, her health, and holiday arrangements.
