Biographical / Historical

The Schlich Memorial Fund Committee was established in 1926 to raise funds to perpetuate the name of Sir William Schlich. In 1928 responsibility for the fund passed to the Schlich Memorial Fund trustees, composed of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Empire Forestry Association and the Director of the Imperial Forestry Institute, and administered by the Empire Forestry Association. The fund was used to erect a memorial tablet and also to fund the Schlich Memorial Prize for postgraduate students in the Imperial Forestry Institute.
