'Programmes, cuttings, etc. Vol. III', compiled by E.F. Glynn, 1906-1912
The third of three scrapbooks compiled by Francis Glynn, covering the period 1906-1912, including ephemera (programmes, menus, etc.) from musical and other events, mostly from in and around London, Stratton St Margaret and other parts of Wiltshire.
It also includes material relating to Glynn's time as a lieutenant in the Royal Field Artillery and as a fire-fighter in Stratton. It also contains ephemera from a visit to Hamburg in 1909, including several photographs of German fire-fighting teams in Hamburg and Düsseldorf.
Also included is a promotional leaflet for Glynn's singing career and a programme for a performance of Elgar's King Olaf by the West Norwood Choral and Orchestral Society (in which Glynn sang the title role) bearing the composer's signature.
