Biographical / Historical

Philip Percival settled in Kenya in 1905, and his wife joined him shortly afterward. He was a noted hunter and was involved in numerous hunting expeditions, including those of Theodore Roosevelt in 1909 and Prince Arthur of Connaught in 1911.

Related Materials

The Percivals' papers, including financial records of Potha Estate in Machakos and papers about hunting, farming, and development in Machakos, were copied in Kenya for the Kenya National Archives in 1984, as were their photographs. They are in the care of the Percivals' daughter-in-law, Mrs Dorothy Percival.
