Biographical / Historical

The photographs form part of Bryan Hook's diary account of his second visit to the British East Africa Protectorate (Kenya) in 1914 with his two sons, Raymond and Valentine. The visit covered Rumuruti, Thomson's Falls, and Lake Ol Bolossat.

Related Materials

The diary was copied for the Kenya National Archives in 1983, as were the photographs, with the kind permission of Hook's daughter, Mrs Sylvia Atkinson, and of his granddaughter, Mrs Eleanor Fazan.
