Item 1: Diary, 10 Jan-7 Mar 1937, beginning ‘I am writing this diary for myself. I want to read it when I am old, & perhaps lonely.’ Reporting on 'S.' and baby George, the diary mentions Edith Sitwell, Siegfried Sassoon, Desmond McCarthy (Bloomsbury Group), Arnold Bennett, Ruth Pittel and other poets and composers.
Item 2: 'Alphabetical list of Sheriffs 1508-1559', with inserts. Written in reverse alphabetical order by R.L. [likely Roy Leslie] Davids, author of an entry for Sir John Seymour in The History of Parliament: the House of Commons 1509-1558 (London, 1982).
